Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Digital Radio & News (the “App”), why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It is effective as of November 30, 2025 and applies to Digital Radio & News on Android and iOS.

Digital Radio & News is provided by YHH IT Solutions, located at Damside, Pokhara. YHH IT Solutions is the company responsible for your information (the “data controller”).

In this policy, “you” means the person using the App, and “personal information” means information that identifies or relates to you.

In short: the App has no accounts and asks for no personal details. You do not sign in, and we never ask for your name, phone number, or email address to use it. What you save in the App — favourites, recordings, saved articles — stays on your device.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information described below. We do not collect categories of data that are not listed here, and we do not ask you to create an account or provide personal details in order to use the App.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device information — device model, operating-system version, device identifiers, language, and region — to operate the App and keep it compatible with your device.
  • Usage data — features used, screens viewed, interaction events, and time spent — to understand how the App is used and improve it.
  • Crash and diagnostic logs — to detect, diagnose, and fix bugs and crashes.
  • Your approximate location as inferred from your IP address by our analytics provider, at country level. The App does not request or use your device’s precise location (GPS).

Information you give us:

  • The country you choose for radio and news, and your notification preference. These are stored on your device.
  • Anything you write to us when you use “Report a Problem”. That opens your own email app with your device model, operating-system version, and app version filled in, so we can reproduce the issue. You can edit or delete any of it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself.

What Stays on Your Device

Several parts of the App keep data locally and do not upload it to us:

  • Recordings you make of a broadcast are written to your device’s storage and stay there. We never receive, store, or listen to them. Deleting a recording in the App, or uninstalling the App, removes it.
  • Your favourite stations, recently played stations, and saved news articles.
  • Your selected country and notification preference.

Because this data never reaches us, we cannot retrieve it for you if you uninstall the App or change devices.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • to provide, maintain, and operate Digital Radio & News;
  • to send notifications you have enabled (you can turn these off in the App’s menu or in your device settings);
  • to understand how the App is used and to improve it;
  • to diagnose and fix crashes and bugs;
  • to detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems;
  • to comply with our legal obligations.

We use your information only for the purposes listed above. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases under the GDPR:

  • Contract — to provide Digital Radio & News.
  • Consent — for push notifications, and for analytics where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep Digital Radio & News secure, prevent fraud, and improve the App.
  • Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.

Analytics and Device Identifiers

Digital Radio & News does not display advertising. It uses the following Google services, which rely on device identifiers and software development kits (SDKs) to work:

  • Google Analytics for Firebase — to understand how the App is used.
  • Firebase Crashlytics — to report crashes and errors.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — to deliver the notifications you enable.
  • Firebase Remote Config — to manage app settings, such as prompting you about a new version.

On Android, Google Analytics for Firebase may use your device’s advertising ID as part of its measurement. We do not use it to show you ads or to build an advertising profile. You can reset or delete that identifier at any time in Android Settings › Privacy › Ads, and on iOS you can refuse app tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

If you are in the EEA or UK, we use non-essential analytics only where we have your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by writing to contact@yhhits.com.

How We Share Information

We share information only in the following ways:

  • Service providers — companies that process data on our behalf (such as hosting and infrastructure) and are bound to use it only as we instruct.
  • Google Firebase — for analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and remote configuration. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy and policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Legal and safety — to comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of YHH IT Solutions, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers — if the company is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Third-Party Stations, Publishers, and Links

Digital Radio & News plays radio streams operated by broadcasters and lists news articles published by news organisations. We do not control them.

  • When you play a station, your device connects directly to that broadcaster’s stream. The broadcaster or its hosting provider can see your IP address and technical details of the connection, and handles that data under its own privacy policy.
  • When you open a full article, the publisher’s page loads in an in-app browser. That page may set its own cookies and collect its own data under its own privacy policy.
  • Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above:

  • Usage and analytics data — retained for a limited period (typically up to 14 to 26 months), then deleted or aggregated.
  • Crash and diagnostic logs — retained for a limited period, then deleted.
  • Emails you send us — kept for as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the issue.

Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a short time before they are overwritten. We delete or anonymise data once it is no longer needed. Data held only on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the App.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including the United States, where some of our providers (such as Google) operate. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, adequacy decisions, or providers certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Data Security

We use reasonable, industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on a need-to-know basis, and review of the providers we work with.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Your Privacy Rights

You can ask us to:

  • access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information; and
  • receive your information in a portable format.

Because the App has no accounts, the information we hold is not linked to your name. To find records relating to your device we may need details such as your device model and roughly when you used the App, and in some cases we may not be able to identify your data at all.

You can also turn notifications off in the App’s menu or in your device settings, and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings, at any time.

To make a request, email contact@yhhits.com with the subject “Privacy Request”. We respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent at any time, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, your national data protection authority).

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may use an authorised agent to act on your behalf. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.

Children’s Privacy

Digital Radio & News is not directed to children under 4 (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is greater). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If we learn that we have, we delete it promptly. A parent or guardian who believes their child has provided personal information can contact contact@yhhits.com.

The App plays live radio and shows news from third parties. That content is not created or reviewed by us and may not be suitable for all ages.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we revise the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you through the App. Please review this policy periodically.
